CEET is an autonomous centre based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia and is connected to the Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society. CEET is a collaboration between Alcatel-Lucent Australia and Bell Labs, the Victorian State Government, and the University of Melbourne. The Centre's Director is Laureate Professor Rod Tucker. == Research == The volume of traffic on the Internet is growing exponentially and it is expected to continue this trajectory into the foreseeable future. Greenhouse gas emissions from the information and communications technology (ICT) sector are projected to increase significantly in coming years. Clustered around three themes, the research program at CEET is finding ways to reduce the energy consumption of telecommunications networks.
